Title: Driver
Reporting To: Material Services Manager
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Employment Type: Full-Time


General Position Summary
Responsible for the safe and timely delivery of supplies to partner organizations within the region served. Perform general warehouse duties when no deliveries are scheduled.

Position Specific Competencies

Customer Service
Provide excellent customer service to partner organizations before and at the delivery site

DOT
Be aware of and comply with all Department of Transportation requirements related to safe and effective driving, including accurate and timely completion of all necessary paperwork and logs

Equipment Inspection, Maintenance and Use
Perform pre and post-trip truck inspections on all PWNA vehicles. Keep equipment clean and in good working order. Immediately report any equipment issues to management. Safely operate warehouse equipment as necessary

Fuel Tax
Accurately complete fuel tax paperwork and logs

Information
Report to office personnel any issues, concerns and successes partners relay while on site

Inventory Control
Accurately count, sort and label all assigned incoming inventory and ensure information is recorded. Perform random cycle counts on inventory as requested

Mechanical Skills
Understand and be able to perform basic mechanical skills

Outgoing Shipments
Assist in assembling out-going shipments, spot check out-going inventory for accuracy and ensure pallet packaging is of high quality

Partner Notification
Notify partner organizations of expected delivery times

Problem Solving
Effectively solve issues with equipment and schedule that occur on the road

Program Knowledge
Be knowledgeable enough about PWNA's program services to answer general questions from partners and provide information to program partners

Safe Environment
Actively contribute to a safe work environment, which includes the operation of trucks and delivery equipment

Experience and Skills:

PRIMARY
Carry no less than a Class B CDL license
Demographics Knowledge - Southwest Plains Reservations
3 years Driving experience w/clean DVR
OTR - Ability to handle overnight acoommodations
Customer Service Skills / People skills

SECONDARY
Driver touch freight / hands on
Ability to handle freight in diverse situations
Understanding of all DOT State Federal Regulation for Drivers
Overtime required when necessary
Ability to work in warehouse when needed and lift minimum of 50#

Additional Skills
Read, write, speak and understand English
Able to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner adhering to applicable laws
Mechanical aptitude a plus

Work Conditions
Flexible work hours according to business demands
Overtime required as needed
Will work in a warehouse environment and around warehouse equipment
Frequent and prolonged period of time spent outdoors in the elements
Extensive travel required with overnight stays as needed

Education Requirements
High School Diploma Or equivalent
DOT certifications a plus

Experience Requirements
3 years Oversize truck driving experience required with appropriate certifications
