Job Description:

Title: Partnership in Giving Specialist

Classification: Exempt

Report To: Partnership in Giving Manager

 

General Position Summary:

Implements and coordinates planned giving and major donor strategies with a focus on donor stewardship, cultivation, and strong customer service ethics.

 

Essential Functions

  • Track and report on planned giving and major donor campaign performance.
  • Track and report monthly on planned giving and major donor performance.
  • Communicate to the accounting office gifts through bequests/wills and sale of stock.
  • Keep and maintain weekly meeting notes and deliverables and communicate as needed.
  • Secure project schedules from direct mail team as needed.
  • Maintain personal portfolio of planned giving and major donors and prospects
  • Cultivate donors up the giving pyramid to become planned giving and/or major donors
  • Research donors to understand affinity for mission, favorite services and capacity for giving.
  • Maintain notes on donors in the donor database.
  • Assist in setting up one-on-one visits with donors from Director of Fundraising or Partnership in Giving Manager.
  • Coordinate the execution of charitable gift annuities between the donor, Partnership in Giving team, VP and the CFO.
  • Provide feedback to help create effective planned giving and major donor fundraising appeals and stewardship strategies.
  • Ensure that new planned giving donors are recognized as members of the Circle of Friends.
  • Assist Donor Relations as needed.

 

Work Conditions:

  • Up to 40% overnight travel as required.
  • Majority of responsibilities are done in an office environment.

 

Job Scope:

  • High level of donor contact. Must cultivate relationships with donors through written and phone communications.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or  combination of education and relevant experience
  • Two years of customer service, planned giving and/or major donor experience is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Understanding of planned giving vehicles/products
  • 1 year Donor relations experience
